Our team specializes in retirement planning for city, county, and state employees, inheritance planning, and customized short- and long-term investment strategies.

Oregon Medicare Help is an independent healthcare specialist team founded by Matthew Hoffman and Jakob Katchem. Our mission is to provide unbiased guidance to help you navigate Medicare and choose the right coverage for your needs. As independent specialists, we work for you, not the insurance companies, ensuring you receive the best options available. Our services give you support at no cost.
Matthew Hoffman
As a true Oregonian, I planted my roots in Eugene before moving to Bend in 2005. In 2010, I earned a Business degree from Oregon State University-Cascades in Bend. With over a decade of experience guiding clients through the complexities of retirement planning, I’ve helped hundreds create customized plans that fit their lifestyles and provide peace of mind. Now based in Bend, I have strong connections throughout Oregon. When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me exploring trails on my bike, paddling the river, playing pickleball, or grilling up the season’s harvest—always with my dog, Jerry, by my side.
Jakob Katchem
Originally from Southern California, I built my career in financial services, specializing in retirement planning and investment strategies before expanding into Medicare planning. As an independent financial advisor with United Financial NW, I take a holistic, no-cost approach, helping clients navigate their coverage options with clarity and confidence. My expertise ensures individuals make informed decisions that align with their long-term financial goals. An active member of the Bend Chamber of Commerce’s Emerging Talent Program, I enjoy snowshoeing, snowboarding, hiking, and wake surfing—always returning to Bend’s lakes and rivers with friends and family.
